The “aereo” bracelet with a Australian pearl hand made using the techniques of fusion and “lost wax”. Each piece is unique and is made without the use of molds meaning that each ring differs from that in the photograph, although the maximum size will be that indicated.
The pearls of the southern seas are so called because most of them come from the north-west coast of Australia but they can also come from the Philippines, Burma and Indonesia. Many of the oysters which produce them are cultivated in open waters, the ideal environment for the growth of the Pinctada Maxima, which succeeds in producing this rarest and sought-after type of pearl. The Pinctada Maxima takes between 3 and 6 years to produce a pearl. Normally the Australian pearls have a pure white colour with silver or honey-coloured reflections, which make them the most beautiful in the world according to expert opinion. They have a diameter which varies from 8 to 20 mm with some very rare examples being larger still. For all these reasons they are the most costly amongst pearls in the market.
